A syllabus is the key to the content taught in each course in the Madrasah, the content of which is based on the Quraan and Sunnah.

Initially madrasahs in South Africa used kitaabs which were either in Urdu or Gujrati. As time lapsed,  children and many parents lost touch and contact with their mother tongue. As a result there was a need to teach Kitaabs in English.

Alhamdulillah during the late 1960’s, the LMA were the pioneers in creating a complete syllabus in English which catered for needs of these children.

More then half a century later our syllabus is not only used in South Africa , but has been adopted by many countries abroad.

The LMA has a comprehensive syllabus from Grade R to Grade 10. Subjects taught include Quraan ,surahs,duaas, history ,fiqh, aqaaid, akhlaaq, tafseer and hadeeth.
